Cats For Everyone :3
Nov 29, 2024
Over the past few days, I have been working on creating a sort of documentation of famous cats on the internet. It is pretty bare bones right now and there are only a few entries, but over time I plan to add more! Take a look around and maybe you'll find your new favorite creature of all time :D
New Style!
Nov 24, 2024
Yippie!!! I have created a style that won't actually bleed your eyes out! If you're curious, you can check out what it looked like on the eyestrain page. Speaking of pages, I've also set up a basic navigation bar on the left! So far it only has two pages but I plan to add more :D
I've also started using VSCode to edit the files instead of the built in one. I get to have a live preview! Isn't that so awesome pawsome!?
Almost Two Years Later
Nov 23, 2024
So it's been almost TWO whole years since I updated this website. Crazy. Yesterday I showed my friends what I had made here and it re-motivated me to try and do something more with this place! :D
Currently, I want to add some more structure to the layout of the page since the only way to see older posts is scroll down. It's not so bad yet, but if I want this so be scaleable, there needs to be some semblance of organization. My friend suggested a drop down for year selection and I like that idea.
I also want to make themes for the style because even though I may like the eyestrain, I know there should be something nicer on the eyes and an option when first opening the site.
ALSO like WHAT!? How does my site have 10,000 views that is some mind boggling effects right there.
Still Awake
Jan 23, 2023
I didn't sleep since I wrote the previous post. Instead, I have been browsing other Neocities websites lost in the numerous tabs I have open at once.
It's annoying that there is not an easy way to go back to the Neocities interface to follow a site that I want to save. I can open the site in a new tab when I find it from the main page, but through natural browsing, it seems to be impossible to find them again if lost. For your convenience here is my Neocities page.
I realize that it is actually quite simple to get back to the main page. All one has to do is take the name of the site and put it behind:
The lack of sleep is getting to me. I think I will go collapse now :)
Fonts and Adventures
Jan 22, 2023
Today I dove down a rabbit hole. I woke up planning to make a very simple "Choose Your Own Adventure" but, in typcial fashion, got distracted compleatly. It started with obsessing over what font I wanted to use. I spent way too long scouring google trying to find the font from ZORK, before realizing that it was just a built in one (This site saved me) from IBM's Disk Operating System. While I was searching I had found a couple of online emulators with old games and programs. Naturally I played ZORK and later The Oregon Trail with friends in a call. We had nearly made it to the end before all drowning at the final river from a single rock tipping everything over. Wirklich schade.
I've only linked a few referances here but later on I will compile the links that I have saved from surfing the web into one big master list.
Some Ideas
Jan 17, 2023
As I sit here looking at my site, I am unsure what sort of theme and content to put in place. There are so many possibilities. At the moment this site is just some saturated colors and not so interesting text but I could make anything.
When I browse random sites my eye is drawn to bright designs and unique layouts. Some of them are crammed with lots of silly images and gifs. I like this aesthetic but I realize it is quite popular. There is also a little perfectionist on my shoulder preventing me from fully embracing the jank and chaos. On the other hand, I also do not want to make something super clean. Letting myself make something crazy and unconventional is why I created this site. Here is a list of some ideas that I could possibly implement sometime in the future:
- Text Adventure: I love text adventures they are so fun to type commands and figure out how to progress the interactive story. This will be a bit complicated so maybe it is better to create this in an actual game engine or by using this site.
- Choose Your Own Adventure: This is similar to the text adventure idea but the story is more linear. I remember reading the books that told you to flip to the different pages based on your choices. This is easier to implement since it can quite literally be cliking on links to go to the different pages.
- Portfolio/Art Dump: Probably the most borring of options but an idea none the less. It would just be a place to organize OCs and post things that may have not seen the light of day. Perhaps even embed my Itch.io games too.
- Blue: Maybe I am adding this to just fill a list but what I mean by "Blue" is well... a page dedicated to blue. It doesn't have to be the entire site but I think it would be cool to write about all the different hues of blue (I'm so using that name for the title if I do) and how much I like this color :)
